I replaced the passenger side hangers and leaf spring when I got my ranger and now I've moved onto the driver side. Well I have removed the rear and front hangers and am now staring at the gas tank. I saw a how-to on here about doing the driver side front hanger but it just says its a pain and doesn't go into depth on the issues w the gas tank. I would prefer not to drop the tank. It's a 93 4.0 4x4 xlt manual extra cab and its not bad at all with rust I would just prefer not to drop the tank. What would the easiest method be to get the hanger installed? I was thinking of cutting about an inch of so of the bottom of the frame so I could get a wrench up to hold the nut. I really don't want to cut into the frame, so I'm leaning towards dropping the gas tank. Any tips or suggestions that have helped you? Thank you!
