I just changed out my old 88 A4ld with 175k for one out of a 1992 explorer 4.0. According to the guy, it only has about 20k and got smacked. The rest has 180k. I got everything from the radiator to the transfer case and most of the harness with the brain.
The swap went as well as expected but............ No OD. Set the bands for the 4.0 and all other connectors are the same as my 2.9. The question is: Can I just swap the brain to get OD. I've swaped radiators and coolers, installed a new 180^ t-stat and sending unit but it won't come up to temp. Maybe thats the OD issue??? (1988 Ranger 4X4 XLT) hep me :(
