Hey all. I have a (somewhat big) problem (may have posted this somewhere else, can't recall).
I'm rebuilding my 2.3 with 2.5 internals. The problem is, I broke in three places the aluminum oil seal carrier -- and it is integrally-related to putting the oil pan back on.
What I need to know is: Parts options. Does anyone know of a site that may sell a new part? Does anyone know of what the thing is called, and/or know the part number?
The part I'm referring to is this:
It is the aluminum part, on the front of the 2.3 that the front end of the crank is fed through to attach the timing gear, protect the timing belt, and behind the timing gear, holds the front crankshaft oil seal (main seal). This machined chunk of aluminum also has part of the oil pan mating surface. Because I broke mine removing the stupid timing gear (D'oh!), I now need a replacement.
Can anyone help me out here?
