Since I don't mess with the EFI Rangers that much I need some help. My brothers 91 Ranger started running real rough, and pouring out black smoke on his way to work. It cleared up before he made it to work, the first problem is that he has to un-hook the battery because sometimes it will completely drain the battery (which as you know clears the codes). So it sat all day, he hooked the battery, and brought it to my house for me to work on (oh joy). It didn't act up from work to my house. I did pull a code 33, and a 52, I know the code 33 is the EGR valve opening not detected (no biggie). The code 52 PSPS circuit did not change states is no biggie either. Now after pulling the codes, and clearing them, and driving it some I can't get it to give me any codes at all I am going to drive it around today after making sure the EGR isn't stuck, and "hopefully" it act up for me so I can "hopefully" get some code(s). I also want to try to figure why it's draining the battery, but since it's a intermittent problem it's going to be one of those
Any ideas from what I provided so far? (god how I wish it was carbed like my 86).
