'91 LTD Crown Vic throttle position sensor issue

Well, engine got installed and the engine runs fine, but the tps is actin up and it wants to die when you go to put it in drive (it idles fine). I doubt it's the sensor itself, because they tried 3 sensors on it and it did the same hing, so unless all 3 were bad, the only other thing I can think of is an issue with the ECU. He had it hooked to a code reader and it didn't show an option to check this specific problem.
