After buying 4 rear ends decided to use the 96 but 4x4 wont work with it. It is 3.73 but much heavier than the original one and doesnt fit with front end.
3.73 7.5 very hard to find. Need the 4x4!
Any help?

You can expand your search to include 8.8 rear ends. 7.5 and 8.8 mount the same.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
Or take some measurements an talk to an experienced parts counterman about a hybrid joint, small on the shaft side and bigger on the yoke side. Just hang on to the part number for the future.

All you need is the yoke on the driveshaft side, should be same size U joint, should be able to swap that with a hammer and a 3/4" socket... should be available at any DIY junkyard in many vehicles, namely 1990 up Rangers or most Explorers.
