Just bought a 89 Ranger, 2.3 dual spark plug.Turns over no spark.Intermittent power on center wire on coils packs.Checked crank sensor;ok.Did all the usual things.Didnt buy not one part.Fixed by unwrapping wire loom on driver side from coil to upper intake plug ins.Heard fuel pump kick on and off while moving wires around.I believe it to be plug in on module on top.Anyway truck fired up after two years.I spent a day on this so if what I found helps that's good.I suggest before buying any parts check all connections; grounds at neg battery; rec relay under fuse box under hood.Module screws must be tight for ground.Coils rarely go bad.Timing belt check is first.Good luck
