'88 dash panel clips

One of the original metal retaining clips for the dash trim has busted. They looked sorta brassy in composition, or at least slightly yellow, and they are what allows the panel pieces on the dashboard to come together. What little I can find about them is that they aren't made any longer, can anyone speak to the veracity of this and is there an alternative?
