My inertia switch was bad so I bypassed for testing. Was able to jump the green fuel pump relay and start the HP frame rail pump but no fuel is coming out. Should this start the in tank pump as well, or is it shot?

I believe the same circuit powers both pumps... it does on my 86. Don't think they changed wiring with the two pump system over the years.

Thanks, during the oil pan work the linkage was shifted thinking maybe the neutral safety switch not running the pump. Crawled underneath and found 3-4 wires chewed through so fixing those now. Hope the in tank pump is still good.

+1 ^^^

Both pumps run off the same circuit, the main 12volt wire from the inertia switch to drivers side frame rail was SPLICED at the high pressure pumps location, to power that pump then continued on to the in tank lift pump
That splice could corroded or failed, come apart

Neutral switch is just for starter motor activation, no connection to fuel pump power

Thanks! After fixing the chewed up wiring in tank pump still wasn’t working but a few fist bumps to the tank fixed that. I think the timing is off and starting from scratch first thing tomorrow to see if I can’t get this thing to fire up. I did have to bypass the frame rail filter reservoir. Seems like a common failure as this is as the same issue on the 87 F150
