Nice. For a rig like that, I wouldn't mind the A4LD, it would just be a weekend driver.

Interesting steering wheel too, I've never seen that style in a 1st gen. Every single one I've seen has had the plastic style.

86-88 had that style.

As did 89-92s.

Yes, very common in 89-92. I have never seen one in any 86-88 truck though and I've see quite a few over the years, even the highly optioned trucks have had just the normal plastic kind.

I would not mind finding one or two of those - I hate the plastic ones. When it gets hot out they seem to ooze out some kind of chemical and get very sticky. 89 up was a little better, the plastic is harder.

This style i believe was 83-85 in cheapo models...

This was in "fancy" 83-85's...

Then this was used across the board for all 86-92 Rangers, 86-90 BII, 87-91 F series, and aerostars from 87-92ish....

The el cheapo 83-85 wheel was very similiar to the one used from atleast 73 in the F series up till 77, 78/79 used the 80-86 style F series/78-91 E series wheel.

The "fancy" 83-85 wheel was stolen from the car line and used in Crown Vics. LTDs, and i believe tempo/topazes till the late 80s atleast.

In the first pic note the horn is on the turn signal stalk. They were smaller and more smooth than the full-size trucks. I think think they went to about ‘85 with the four spoke wheel being available for cruise control. The two spoke wheel might have died sooner but I am pretty sure the four spoke is “correct” for my truck. That early two spoke is not common.

A wheel similar to the third pic was available ‘86-88 sans cruise buttons for base model trucks. Most common in my area. Mine had that version to start with, it has the cc version now.

Second gens wheels looked similar to a late first gen but more bulbous, kind of poser airbag looking steering wheels.

Could be, I will never claim to be a big 2nd gen expert.

My parents ‘94 Explorer had the poser airbag wheel so I figured it came with the new interior.

According to cargurus this is a 92 interior...

I think the exploders used the airbaggy wheel in 91 and it migrated over to rangers in 93.

My B2 was built in September of 84 according to the door jam and it came with cruise.

I love the late 70's ford exterior but honestly I have always hated square gages. Love the round ones in first gen rangers and B2's
