What’s all needing for the touch drive system to function 100% looks like I’m just missing the touch drive overhead module its self
If I remember correctly the 87 bronco II have a abs module and not a 4wd module.The system is made up of 3 basic parts. The pushbuttons where you select 2-hi, 4-hi and 4-lo. An electronic control module, often found behind the driver seat in a Ranger. And the shift motor at the transfer case. The shift motor has a little wormgear box on ot that also contains some electrical contacts that tell the controller what position the transfer case us in. Here is a good place to begin troubleshooting and figuring out what components are working, not working or missing. In many cases, the contacts at the shift motor ate dirty or corroded from not being used often enough.

ABS has nothing to do with your 4x4 system. If you have an electric shift transfer case, it has a control module. On much, much newer trucks, it is built into the GEM or something like that. But on a 87, it's a separate module.
Any idea where it’s located in a 87? 88 plus it’s where the abs module is on my 87.
There is a square metal panel on the top of the dash that can be removed, the 4x4 shift module is located in there.
