My credo
Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
Also... my fuel tank was really bad. I bought that on Amazon also. It was a return and I got it for less then $50.

I couldn't find the fuel sender on Amazon and went local. It was a Spectra part.
Got a deal on that tank! Nice score

Thanks @Uncle Gump! I very much appreciate you taking the time to do that for me. I have the frame mounted filter I believe...? I thought my truck had 2 pumps; one in the tank and another inline but maybe I'm confusing that with the filter...
I'm gonna be THAT guy and quote myself...

Got my Chilton manual yesterday from Amazon and it was in exceptional condition for being used...not that it mattered, as long as it was readable, but pleasantly surprised.

I have a frame mounted high pressure fuel pump and separate filter in addition to the low pressure in tank filter. Just saying that out loud now that I understand it clearly!

Not trying to thread-jack or muck up @Uncle Gump's thread here with my own tales of woe...but I am gonna hijack his fuel system recipe! For a 35-year old vehicle it's a no-brainer and relatively inexpensive all things considered...

Felt a little like my birthday today...

I looked for a minute for Motorcraft plug wires... a just bought these NGKs. Can't say I've ever bought a set of plug wires that came numbered. They also have the plug boot glued/sealed in place. Hopefully they fit well and work just as good as they seem to be.

I like the MSD super conductor wires myself.

They typically come with little white number sleeves that slide over the wire if you buy a pre made set.

I've run NGK plug wires on my ranger for 7 years now. I'm happy with them

Years ago Autozone actually sold Motorcraft plug wires, IIRC. They seem to have disappeared from everywhere though in recent years. I also ran Bosch from AZ but I don’t think they have anything other than their store brand these days. I ran ACCEL on my F-150 for awhile, Summit actually had a tune-up kit in a box. Plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Think somewhere in my shed I still have one of the kits, or rather the box from the kit. Probably another thing that is no longer available.

I just recently put the AZ Duralast wires on my green Ranger. First time I ever got a set of plug wires that were miles longer than they needed to be. I still have to figure out how to tie and route them out of the way. Every wire is literally at least a foot longer than it should be. I’m sort of happy that because they are long it gives me an opportunity to make sure they don’t end up against the headers, but dang.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

So... I've been tinkering a bit and throwing money at it.

I bought a set of 5 General Grabber X3's in 33x10.50x15. I'll get them mounted on my Alcoas when I get back from vacation.

I also talked with Affordable Offroad and I spec'd brackets to mount their XJ Elite read bumper to a Bronco II frame. They came through in typical AOR fashion and I did a test fit the other day. I think it looks awesome.

I did find the old girl has a plugged cowl drain and a leaky left quarter glass leak. My carpet was soaked and had to come out. I really wanted black vinyl flooring anyway. I'll get that coming and might just swing into the Bronco Graveyard while I'm in Michigan next week if they'll have it available. This gave me a chance to see what it looked like anyway and let's me do my own thing when I put it back together.

I also got the front pre runner bumper and had them weld in a 2 inch receiver... I'll end up with a winch plate/winch I can use front or rear... and also use it on my pickup if I want.

The work bench is a mess but it feels good to be working on it... as long as my right hand doesn't bother me to bad. I don't think it will ever be the same after that radiation mishap a year ago.

I should probably be more excited to visit family and show off my new grandson in Michigan... but I'd probably enjoy working on my toy more.

You have room for TWO bumpers on your bench and you call it a mess? Sometimes I have to move things to put my beer down... :), and I currently have two benches, a welding cart with work surface, a rolling cart and a couple tool boxes, all flat spots are nearly taken... I should clean up this weekend...

Bumpers look good, you're getting there!
