so I picked up my 8.8 last night (woot) and I've got a quick question. What diameter ar ethe axle tubes? Reason i'm asking is, my buddy has a pair of rubicon express (I believe) spring perches he's willing to give me, I just want to make sure they are the right fit.

yea, he said it was out of an first gen Expo...

I think my buddy has perches for a 3" diameter axle (I'll find out tommorrow), if so, they'd just need a bit of "massaging" to work then?

or, if they don't work, what's the best place to get spring perches? I know M.O.R.E has 3 1/4 perches for $45, and Currie has some for like, $20 something...

I tried searching, but couldn't find. Are Ranger/Bronco II/Explorer leaf springs 2", 2.25", or 2.5" wide?

Most RBV's will be 2.5".
My perches were too small for my 8.8 swap. A little work with my angle grinder took care of it. Got mine from one of these two sites. I can't remember.

yea, I measured my Explorer springs sitting in the shed today. 2.5"
so I'd need 3.25"x2.5" perches then? I was thinking about getting some 2.5" by, like 5" box tube and cutting the 3.25" to fit the axle tube. Or buy perches, I don't know...

oh, and it's just about 59.5" WMS to WMS (provided I measured right)
sound about right?

For the price they can be found for, i'd buy them. If you make them, you'll want more than 5" to help with wrap. 6" should be good.
59.5" sounds about right if I remember correctly. yours a drum or disk?

drum. If I can find the right ones (or right-ish ones) I'll buy them. Turns out my buddies won't work.

is this going in your 88 b2?
I have an 86 ranger that was 3.45 like yours, and changed over to a drum explorer 8.8.

Mopar Performance 2.5" wide by 3" axle tube perches are about $12.99/pair. That's what I used.
