i got a 79 bronco with D44 front axle. i busted the spider gears in the diff and i was wondering whats the best way to either fixing it or just replace it. basically which would way would be easier... lol i know i dont make to much sence, but i ask cuz my ford guy that i talk to in the area keeps saying different things everytime im about to do what was recomended by him.. go fig... lol. so let me know what your thoughts are guys thanks alot. I've ran into that problem many times. If nothing else is hurt and you want the cheepest way out I'd change just the spider gears you don;t even haveto pull the carrier out of the axle. If the ring gear or pinnion is messed up It would be cheaper to find a complete used axle to just bolt in the front. It's cheaper than buying new pieces and spending hours setting up gears. If you want to that I have a complete used dana 44 out of a 78 bronco with 350 gears I'll sale for $100 It;s near pittsburgh pa 15083 to be exact. Or if you really want to get involved in the project Id buy a front locker and a set of 4.56s or 5.13s so it'd be ready for some serious wheeling. Hope this helps Nick
