Once you have the convertor nuts off, push the studs through the flex plate as far as you can- they won't go all the way through- and pull the engine just like you would with a manual trans. If the trans is going to stay, now's the time to replace the front seal. The convertor has a drain plug so you won't get an ATF shower when you pull it.
