Well me and my dad have finally decided to put his truck back on the road. The truck has been used as a snow plow truck since 87, and has only seen the road to get firewood right down the road. Yes its a 71, it just has a 69 grill on it. So far we have:
-Rebuilt Carb
-Made custom duals/soon to be stacks
-getting 31-12.50's for tires
-oil change (not changed in 10 yrs lol)
-new fuel pump
-New coil
-some other odds and ends...anyway...on to pics!!
waiting in the weeds....

changed front fenders

More Pics To Come!!!! lol

Yea, we got all four of the back rims, there going on with fresh tires, and we have a decent bench seat to replace the one in it right now. Its definately not going to be a looker...but I will be allowed to go offroading in it however...:D

Ok so time for an update, I've changed the oil an filter, my dad rebuilt the carb and replaced the coil, we both have been rebuilding the entire brake system, and the only thing left to do brakewise is to bleed the brakes. I got 31/10.50's mounted on some old wagon wheels and there mounted on her now. I've had to patch several areas on the Radiator support bracket, since we couldn't find a decent one in the yard. I'm probably not going with stack as of right now, just two cherry bombs dumped out the sides. We also bought a tailgate from the junkyard, and the front piece that mounts under the grill. Anyways, on to pics!

Yea my dad bought it back in, i think round 77 or so. But its on its second motor and this one runs like a champ, very healthy 360. And oh she's going places lol, in the woods, mudding, trails, I'm going to see what a fullsize can do what my old Ranger couldn't. And use it to get loads of firewood also, and since this beast has 13 leaves on each side in the rear, there will be no bottoming out :)

13 leaves!? holy crap haha!!!

awesome build dude, i love the low budget idea, kinda makes me wanna pick up a dirt cheap 4x4 just for the woods!

just out of curiosity, axle specs? im guessing d44 and 9" but idk. and also open, lsd, or locked diffs?

yea im not sure if it had some kinda dealer tow package on it but yea 13 leaves on each side lol. If any of you watch extreme 4x4 on spike you know what I mean about them saying "budget builds" then they dump like 5 grand into it an still call it a budget build....get this, so far me an my dad have put roughly 50-60 bucks in this truck so far because most of what it needs is some fab work an patches :icon_welder:, that damn rad support is in sad shape. And yes im pretty sure D44 w/ manual hubs an 9 inch rear, with an LSD rear. I just repacked the front bearings, and man! the gears in the hubs are so beefy! lol I can't wait to get this truck muddy for the first time....there will be pics dont u guys worry:icon_thumby:
this is just a firewood/mud truck nothing else...were just getting it legal so we can drive to the farm were we get firewood from
