Looking at a direct swap from my 7.5 to an 8.8 Ranger axle. My OE unit has a lot of slop. Found a good 8.8 with same ratio and lower miles. Anything I need beside new lines and a new wheel speed sensor for the center housing? I believe the springs are the same width and thickness. I believe a new set of U bolts from either model truck would work. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I swapped a '94 8.8 into my '93 that had 7.5. It was a direct swap. Didn't need to change sensor or brake lines. I think I did buy new U-bolts just for the sake of having new ones.

Yeah, that, should be direct bolt on. The only thing to watch out for is that the snout is longer by around an inch which could cause issues with the rear driveline bottoming out, I've heard of people having issues with that.
