Looking for some advice, current 1999 4.0 ext. cab 4x4. Found a 1998 mercury mountaineer 5.0. After looking through all the write ups that I can find, is there anything different from a mercury than a explorer of the same year??

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
It’s spelled differently.

Ok thanks, just trying to make sure mercury didn’t have anything wacky with the wiring or anything.

If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
A Mercury was just a conceited Ford, a Lincoln is a conceited Ford with a weight problem.

I like the intake plates better.

Usually Explorer ones read "Explorer V8", Mercury usually has "5.0 V8" which I think is nicer because Explorer V8's are rarely swapped into an Explorer.

Love it guys. Hopefully I can get this project kicked off. It’ll be my find first build at 13. So wish us luck
