I just recently put a 5.0L H.0. From a 91' Mustang in my Ranger. Previously I had a 5.0L V8 from a 91' F150. I believe the H.O. Has more power. Was just wondering if anyone can tell me why and what the upgrades are that provide that additional power?

I think it is the heads, and intake.

Heads, intake, and cam are different, with most of the additional power from the cam...

SVT, What is different about the heads? I thought they both used E7's?

Ok, thanks. So how much power did the cam and heads increase? I put a carbureted set up so the intake on mine is not the stock efi. I went with an edelbrock carb and intake. From anyone's experience do you think my intake will be about equivalent or will there be a loss or a gain? Any thoughts?

Oh, I thought after 86 the E6 was no longer used on the truck or Mustang. Guess I was wrong.

Ok, I'm slightly mistaken. The trucks did start using the e7 heads in 87, it was the standard output 302's in cars ( non-ho) that used the e6 heads til the end of the 5.0 production...
