Mines an '87 but I used my stock heater hoses. I used a radiator out of a '90 2.9 Ranger and used the 2.9 upper hose with some modification. I had to get one of those universal bendy hoses for the lower. My motor is old so I had to swap the 45° angle T-stat housing for a 90° one.

+1 on the universal hose on the bottom. I use a 4.0 Explorer dual core radiator and stock hoses on top and heater.

I've read that people were able to use a Ranger 2.9 lower radiator hose, but I'm not sure if they repurposed it for the top or used it on the bottom..

My credo
it is easier to fix and understand than "her"
the swap radiators can work ok....costs are similar in most cases.

fox t stat housing and upper hose with section cut out for a moroso cap adapter up top..... with truck lower into a 25x19 summit universal with no cap is my preferred setup but not sure they make em anymore...so a 20 pound in the rad and a 13-16 in the inline adapter.. that takes a ton of work in a 2wd with no body lift.

the shorter gm style come in a 16ish by 24ish size and combined with the spectre style hard lines work well....seen a few 5.3 swaps with those and they worked great......(want these for my diesel v8 in my ranger someday)
