Wow that's a great build project. Then I read through all the posts, till the last page and seen the Sport Trac, the Gooseneck trailer and the Bronco 2 on the trailer, what a great combination.

Now if Ford would have just built that Sport Trac to begin with I would have considered purchasing one. I never was all that fond of the Sport Trac, it was like why didn't you just buy an Explorer the bed was useless IMO. Well until this conversion was done at least. My only question would be how's that thing turn is there enough space for the trailer to turn before the gooseneck smacks the cab of the truck.

Agreed. This one is awesome. The global ranger in diesel is basically this lol

My mom loves her 04 Sport Trac but the bed is useless. Buy the real thing and have covered space! Lol. Ah well.

Until I read that post I never knew any of the explorer sport tracs had a manual transmission option I always thought they were all automatics.

I wish I had the money to just put a 4BT in my Bronco II.

If it doesn't fit, force it!
If there is any thread full of win, it is that one.

It's not from the sport trac.

There's not much of the original drivetrain left. I still have the stock rears but that's it. The trans is a Mazda M5R2 5 speed from an 04 F150 and the t-case is a manual shift Borg Warner 4406 from an 03 F150.

Leave it better than you found it.
Absolutely one of the coolest builds I've seen, and given what I've seen around here, that's saying something. Awesome.

Hmm, so the Sport Tracs didn't come with manual transmissions so someone obviously was already modding that sport trac prior to this guy picking it up. That 4BT and 5 speed would be a great combination for sure.

Must be extremely rare, I found several for sale online the other night and all were automatic LOL.

I'd rather have a manual transmission especially with a diesel engine. That 4BT swap looks awesome I just lack the necessary skills involved in trying to do this swap into my bronco 2. Plus I don't see the pocket book letting me get the stuff to do a swap either.

I think I would have been more tempted to make a dd/wheeler out of the sport trac. 4bt swap. d60 front/14 bolt rear... 38" MT's... lol
