Need help, my 1988 Ford Ranger has 40 lb fuel pressure with the key on and engine off. If put fuel I'm the throttle body it will crank but will not stay running. Otherwise it will not start. I do not understand why it does not start. Like I said it has 40 lb of fuel pressure

You did the 50/50 test, which is spraying fuel into the throttle body intake. And it fired up. So that means it's not an ignition problem, it's a fuel delivery problem. And you say you have 40 psi, so there is fuel getting up to the fuel injectors.
I would suspect that the fuel injectors are not getting the proper electrical signals.

Crank it for about 15 seconds then start pulling plugs. See if any are wet. The ones that are dry are where the problem is.

However, if its not even spitting or anything it sounds like all 6 arnt firing.

The 2.9 is a batch fire, meaning it fires 3 on one side, then 3 on the other.

I believe certain TFI failures can cause no fuel to be injected, so could a bad wire somewhere, or possibly the ECM itself.

I was out of town a couple days, I will check both today and update as what I find.
