My transmission locks into 4 wheel high and low. Hubs will not lock. I know vacuum canister is no good because the heater door stays on defrost. I move vacuum line for interior closer and they work. Yes I put vacuum cap on open port. Was my daughters truck and I saved it from destination the scrap yard.
The frame and body are very very good couldn't see it scrapped for brakes rotors and ball joints.
1. Is there an easy work-around to get front hubs to lock?
2. Does anyone know where I can get a new vacuum canister? Searched on-line and parts stores and only found 2WD replacements.

For your hubs:

You might try a JY, the canistors rarely go bad, especially the newer plastic ones. Also look for a part number on yours, then google that number. IMO check it for sure and all the vacuum lines for a leak.

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Could probably make a canister from one of those plastic float balls from the old style toilet flush valve.

But if i ever get a Ranger with PVH, I will definitely convert to live axle or more likely SAS.
