4.0 Swap Package

Preparing to swap 4.0 in 86 B2, AT PS, AC. Plan to include the trans, but need to know if swapping the transfer case is wise.
My donor is a 1991 Explorer AT, 4WD, I anticipate more questions before this is over.

Depends. What is in the B2 now? Electronic or manual shift for the Explorer?

Both are manual

Then go with the transfer case that matches your drive shafts

The '86 will have a BW1350, the '91 a BW1354 but both used the 4 gear planetary gear set, 1993 is when the 1354 got the 6 gear
