4.0 SOHC into a 1999 Ranger, Stick

I have a motor in great condition that is going to replace a 3.0. in my 1999. I do not have the computer from the 2003 the motor came out of.(Sold already) Is there any help to be had here on how I can go about getting the right computer, or a reprogram. Has anyone here gone through this yet? This motor is one of the No EGR motors. The computer sellers do not seem to want to talk with me as this motor was never in this year truck. (I already have the right tranny.)

Veteran builders will chime in when they login and will offer more advise. My suggestion is to try checking with junk yards to see if they might have a truck with the computer you need.

Thank you for the direction to fs1.com. In the mean time I began pursuing getting a newer ranger with the 4.0L SOHC. Found a real sweet 2003 FX4 Level II that I am picking up this evening. Thanks again.
