I am sure this has already been answered but I can not find the thread. Here we go.
I swapped out a 2.8l that locked up out of my 1985 ford ranger and put a 1997 ford explorer 4.0 ohv motor in it. I have the motor in and running with the complete 1997 wiring harness attached. What I want to do is remove as much of the vechile wiring harness as possible aka stand alone. Can anyone tell me how to do this or is there someone that can build a wiring harness just to run the brain and engine? I have the fuel system controlled already. Thanks.

I rebuilt a burned up Dodge Dart wiring harness once(circa 1975) by stretching it out on the big wall of a garage, a nail(haha) at each "Y", stripping it down and meticulously repairing each wire that needed it, and eventually regrouping the harness.

You could possibly use the same approach in your situation

I know this is completely unrelated to your wiring issue but how did you mount the motor into your chassis ?
