I just pulled my heads last weekend, they were a little hard to get them to pop loose. I just pryed a little on the front top and they popped loose, the bottom was a little harder because of the alinement pins. I had 2 lifters collapse so 12 lifters, push rods and rockers and a little over $600 I should have it back on the road this weekend. Then I can give my sister back her Jeep, maybe. LOL

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!

I had to do my 93 4.0 too.I really love that motor and it's worth it.You have to have the intake off and don't forget to unbolt the exhaust manifold from the exhaust pipe. When you get that done put a breaker bar or something like it into the intake port and pull up should crack right loose.

Just a thought, inspect them closly. Mt son's had a crack between valves on the drivers side front (no 1?) and rear passengers cyl. I was hopeing it was only head gasket.
