Hi Guys - first time I popped the hood on a '94 Ranger and looked at the huge mass of wires leading to the engine I found the whole thing a little intimidating looking. Actually though, it's a pretty simple, if well designed system. Currently we're getting a rebuilt 4.0 ready to drop in and part of that was rewrapping the wiring - we used 3M colour coding tape on different sections of the 2 harnesses for easier identification (and mainly 'cause it looks really cool on the motor).
So anyway, for anybody out there who's not real familiar with all those plug ins and connectors on their motor I posted pictures of both harnesses and a description of where they go. Hopefully it will help take some of the confusion out of troubleshooting or engine swapping for somebody.
I had to post them to a website - you can find it at rangerswanttorun.homestead.com
If anybody goes there let me know what you think - if what it says makes sense or not or should I change anything?
