3.73's and 35's?i'm suprised your tranny hasen't blown with that combo.use at least 4.56 gears it will save that auto and gear it back toward stock.your speedo would only be 2 or 3 miles an hour off then

My brother did that with a 2.9L and a 5 speed. You will hate it. No power at all. You have an auto; even worse. You will kill it. Really you should have 4.10s now. Get gears before you get bigger tires, trust me on that one.

My credo
"220, 221, whatever it takes."
For 35's at least get 4.56's, 4.88 would be better. I have 32's and 3.73's, it's a little slow from a stop but the 4.0 SOHC puts out about 40 hp more.
I also run with OD off most of the time until I get on the highway.

expect 10-11mpg..........semi's will pass you up any grade, unless you dump it in to 2nd at 60mph and just scream it away.........3rd gear will be like your over drive now...near useless. it sucks....not to mention you will proably burn up your tranny pretty quick......

4;88' s if its a daily driver. 5;13's if you take it off road 60% or more....

the only way 3;73s and 35 is bareable is if you have a powerstorke under the hood lol

I ran 35's with 3.73's for a while with my 4.0 and 5-speed. It sucked starting out from a dead stop, after that it wasn't too bad except that I could no longer use over drive.

I went with 4.56's mainly because 4.88's weren't available at the time. If I were to do it again, I would go with 5.13's.

As for the powerstroke thing, even my brother-in-law's 7.3 liter has 4.10's stock.
