i am in the market of new tires and was looking at the bfg at 33x12.5x15 i current have yokohama ats and they are way to loud and traction sucks in even wet grass, is bfg at tire a decent off road tire or do they dig, any other at tire suggestions?

the BFG AT' are a good all around tire. they are not going to dig like a mud tire by any means. but they should have a bit more bite than the yok's.

as for noise, I cant say that any of mine have howled or anything, they do have some road noise vs a street only type of tire.

I ran some 215/75s when my truck was stock and a friend of mine runs 33x12.5s on his truck. They aren't too loud, and are generally known as a great all around tire. They don't well in thick mud, but I found that if you can keep the tread wet, they clean well enough to keep moving.

I have to put my vote in for the Toyo Open Country A/T's. I replaced some BFG's with them and couldn't be happier. Tread wear is looking like I will get 50k out of these and I am not terribly slow driving either. Off road grip is on par with any AT I have seen.

dude i took a corner getting onto the highway the other day and slid around the corner and finished the "drift" off without ending up in the canal, and a fl highway patrol pulled me over and almost wrote me a ticket for reckless driving, but i swear to god i didnt mean to break it lose these tires just did it and trust me i have tried to break these loose on the road many times with no luck, now in a wet field, better grab the puke bag cause its a roller coaster

I have 32inch BFG ATs on my ranger, very good tires imo. infact, they saved my life. wet slick road, pullin out onto US 17 in virginia, slid all the way around and into a ditch, as soon as i hit the grass, instant traction and i was able to get out with no truck damage or self damage.

my friend had the bfg AT's on his yota and he got around in the woods pretty good. i think they kick ass in the snow realy good traction. he got alot of miles out of those things. if i dident wheel alot thats the tire i would grab. IMO

I wheel with a couple guys who have the bfg at's and they do just fine off road as long as it's not thick mud like mentioned before. If it is thick mud or mud in general you seek get mud tires. If you get ATs don't plan on pulling people out if you will still be in mud hwen you try to pull them. If you only do a little offroading they will be fine.
