302 swap

Looking into doing a 302 swap in my 1984 Ford Ranger that originally had the 2.8l v6. Wanting to know if I use a 302, is there a way I can use the original transmission so I can make it a cheaper build, and still have my 4wd and so I am not wasting a perfectly good transmission at that. So I was seeing if there was like a flywheel conversion or something of that sort that will let me use the original transmission.

Because 110hp 2.8's had a bad habit of turning them inside out.

I believe it has the same bell housing as the 2.9L and 4.0L.

So if I take the 4.0l fuel injected out of my 1994 ranger then I can run it in the 1984 with the original 1984 transmission and keep 4wd?

i think they are saying that trans hardly worked with the original engine so its not going to work on something with more tq and hp
