any super market, got mine at publix.only 3 or 4 pages on the 302 but good article on how to and for cheap.also covers stabbing a distributor correctly, and the ford 8.8 rearend.302 article covers junkyard to dyno for under 2000 bucks.

the article doen't cover the swap to a ranger, just a good way to get a solid engine you can trust for cheap.i went the same way when i built my 72 340 magnum.i can't recommend a machine shop anymore,my guy sells used cars now.barnett performace does good work as well as atlanta crankshaft exchange.anyway,if you can swing it,build your own engine first, then do the swap.it's fun and when your done you'll be able to show out to your friends and have the satisfaction of doing it yourself.

if you plan to rebuild it yourself then go for it. I wouldnt count on a junkyard motor to last long, prolly has alot of miles on it. If u want a motor all ready to go then look in the parts for sale section on this site, ebay, and craigslist.
