Ok this isnt really a conversion, its for my mustang, but anyway i cant remember whether its 351W or 351C heads that will fit on a 302? I thought it was windsor but cant remember. And im gonna be building up this 302 which im told has .03 bore so is there any littletips or tricks or reminders any one could give me to build this thing right?
Thanks everyone!

351W heads will fit but the head bolts are larger in dia. You can get ARP head bolts for this though.

When you get the pistons in, measure the deck hieght. You might want to deck the block.

Actually both will fit. The more popular is the cleavland heads on a windsor. I haven't messed that that interchange too much. How much are you rebuilding? Everything or just a refresh? Best tip, check all the clearances. Don't just throw it together.

The Cleveland head swap is more involved, requires some machine work Cleveland style pistons and a Boss 302 intake. Not as popular as it was twenty years ago, before the appearance of all the aftermarket heads.

So true. With the good aftermarket heads of today it is kind of pointless to do all the work to add cleveland heads unless you want that older era look. The 351 heads need sleaves for the bolt holes which you can get from Jegs.

No need to use adapters in a month or so, Edelbrock's making Boss 302 intakes now. Summit lists a shipping date late this month. P/N EDL-7129, they're casting one for Cleveland heads on a 351W block too.

Not really---------the 351M/400 head has a Thermactor passage cast into the head that the 351C 2 bbl head doesn't.
