I guess OBD2 would be the easiest and most definitive... if you have an IR temp gun you could check each exhaust port for a dead cylinder. Or the old water gun trick, depending on how intermittent it might be. Of course this is assuming it's a misfire still, but it does sound like that.

i dont think its misfiring but it could be there is no check engine light anymore but it feels sluggish so it could be a intermediate misfire

It's more the shaking and roughness I'm thinking of. Along with the apparent misfire while revving. Since you've been dealing with valvetrain issues, timing is obviously a possibility too - based on your initial description and finding the one broken valve spring, I was thinking possibly more broken valve springs. Did you check them all? I think I read the whole thread but maybe I missed something. I felt like you found one and replaced it.

yes i checked the passenger side and cylender 3 spring was definitely broke snapped right in half and i checked the drivers side but they looked good so it could be the timing skipped a tooth how would i check that?

If you didn't have the timing cover off I wouldn't worry about timing as far as the timing chain goes. Did you have the cam synchronizer out to do the valve spring? That would be my next guess.

I did not have the cam synchronizer out while doing the valve spring would that make the engine run a bit rough? I was also thinking what’s the likelihood of the engine mounts being bad?

Not sure if you ever resolved your misfiring issue, but I experienced similar symptoms, but never received codes. I read thru your post and it looks like you changed your plugs and wires, but you may want to check your fuel injectors. They can often cause the codes you are receiving and given the age of your truck, it might be a good time to check them out.
