3.0L 2003 Ranger 3 cylinders Misfiring i need some help please

it is easier to fix and understand than "her"
if the plug looked good on 3 and has no compression pull the valve cover....and see what happened.

Oof. Have you checked the others for compression too?
yes i checked 1 (176 psi) 2 (150 psi) 3 (0 psi!!) and 4 (150 psi) and the clicking i heard is coming from the valvetrain over cylinder 3 soo the problem is 3 but that still doesn't explain whats going on with 1 and 4 but we are narrowing it down

yeah i will look at the plug again tomorrow but it looks like i am going in for a deep engine investigation i am really curious to see whats going on in there

i actually forgot about them and i ran out of time today to test them i am pretty sure there fine because there was no codes for them

3 has no compression and there is a clicking.... sounds like time to pull and rebuild, I can't think of anything that would cause a complete loss of pressure that isn't catastrophic.

Ok. But you have misfire codes on 3 cylinders and zero compression on at least one. I'd want to check compression on all cylinders in this situation.

right and by catastrophic what are we looking at valves, rings and what else possibly

yeah i should test the other 2 if i get time tomorrow i will and see what they say i am hoping for at least 150 or 160 i just don't know why 1 and 4 are misfiring

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but zero compression on any cylinders is bad news. I'd double check all cylinders because if any are zero, you're going to have to start digging in.
Do you know the history on this engine? Was it running properly recently?

yeah it was running fine for the 3,000 miles i have owned the truck but one day getting off the highway it just started running really rough all of a sudden it happened so fast before i owned it i know it wasn't driven much and now i have been using this truck as a daily and to do some other shenanigans which i probably shouldn't have done

Fingers crossed it's an easy fix.
Right 😂 I am hoping for valves because I can do that, piston rings on the other hand are a bit harder I’m only 16 and I don’t think I’m mentally prepared for piston rings also the shenanigans Intail reving, burnouts, flooring it, and going way to fast for the poor 3.0
