Looking forward to watching this one. It's been a few years since I've been inside of a 3.0, but if you have any questions, let me know.
My supercharged 3.0 build starts on page 7 of my build thread for reference:

@stmitch thats a clean motor you built. @PetroleumJunkie412 , did you see his glyptal painted engine? Is that what gave you the idea?

Nope, the glyptal thing came from Bobby.

Glyptal is an absolute pain in the ass to do btw. Stuff absolutely reeks, the thinner is a neurotoxin, it gets everywhere whether you like it or not, and it starts setting up within 5 minutes of putting it on.

And apparently needs a week to offgas between coats.

Be prepared to use a gallon of denatured alcohol if you had your machine work done already like I did. Freaking honing oil is merciless, man.

Also it apparently doesn't fully set up unless it's heated to 280 for at least two hours. And off gasses neurotoxins when baking. Yay......

Those that have done it say its worth it, however. Apparently oil stays much cleaner on cast iron engines, no sludge builds up, carbon doesn't stick to stuff painted with it, etc. And should you need to rebuild, just hose stuff off that's painted with it with soapy water and good to go.

First time I've used it, but my build is my first solo engine build. Previous ones have been with dad when I was young. So, trying all kinds of crap I've never tried before.

Try as much as you like but stay away from crack and PCP and you'll turn out just like dirtman. Or is it the other way around?

Why you gotta go there like that??

I've been battling some issues that I think are related to TPS wiring. It came to a head last fall and I haven't worked on it or driven it since then. The bed's full of building materials and tools right now as I finish my pole barn project. Hopefully I can get it running well before the fall, and then who knows...
