Hi folks,
Based on my reading I think I'm ok, but just wanted to confirm. I have a 1994 3.0 4x4 Ranger I'm planning on manual swapping. This has the mechanical speedometer and I have a line on a newer 1L54 trans for a cheap price. My understanding is that for the 4X4 trucks the speedometer gear is in the transfer case, that the transfer case for auto and manual transmissions is the same. So I can basically use any year 3.0 4x4 manual trans with my truck, and the automatic transfer case and driveshafts will just bolt up. does that sound correct? Just want to make sure I don't get stuck with a transmission that doesn't work.
