2006 Ranger super cab short bed 4x4-

My stock tire size is 255-70R-16. My spare tire for some reason is a 235-70R-16. I'm replacing all four tires on my truck and I would like my spare to be the same size as the rest of the tires. So I want to take one of my old tires and use that as the spare. The only question I have is...will it fit under the bed? Any interference with the receiver hitch or anything? (I don't have a receiver hitch, but I was planning on installing one someday).

How come whenever I ask a question it never gets answered? :annoyed: I'm putting a full size tire on the spare this weekend and I'll find out for myself.

Finally got the full-sized tire mounted and balanced. It just barely fit under the bed. I don't think anything bigger would have fit. I don't know if it would interfere with a receiver hitch yet, but it definitely does fit without one.

265/75R16's fit as long as you don't have a hitch.

Bringing an old thread back from the dead....I just installed a Hidden Hitch model # 70181 receiver hitch tonight. The full-size spare still fits, barely. The tire literally rubs against the hitch. I really don't think anything bigger will fit, at least not with this model hitch. Just wanted to post as an FYI to anyone in this situation in the future.

I can get a 245-75-16 tire under mine, although it's a tight fit against the hitch and insides of the frame.
