They definitely are but the power companies made sure you got one of those new, digital power meters to make sure they can squeeze every penny out of you without having to pay someone to come out and read the meter!The nation's power grids are outdated.

Those thermostats can be disconnected from the wifi and continue to work like traditional units.i bet tons of people are mad about those wifi thermostats. they all thought they were so cool at first. not so cool now. i like my old school thermostat that you bump the slider with your finger and no one can change it when you are not looking
