My credo
the grey-t escape
I really need to get a few, especially after my daughter had a fire 2 months ago.

I don't have a better picture but it's not on the bottom of the box. The box steps up on the ends and the extinguisher is mounted to that narrow ledge.

Better than the bottom of the box. Imo still not the best spot. I realize that you're probably worried about theft. And it does happen. Twice to me. But I believe that having a very easily accessible extinguisher to anyone is the best option and worth the risk of loss. If you're not around and the lid is locked then it's useless.

This picture is of my RV that I caught on fire. I was applying heat to the poly to shrink it. Dry rotted wood behind the skin of the RV started smoldering and caught fire while I was elsewhere. If an extinguisher had been locked away I wouldn't have been able to save it. I was really lucky I wasn't 30 seconds later...

My credo
"220, 221, whatever it takes."
Mine is in a storage box in the bed along with my towing stuff, jumper cables, etc. Secured with a tie-down to the bed hooks, drilled a 1" hole in each side. Not locked but fits under the tonneau so it's out of sight. Lid is off for photo.

Now that I finished the Bronco II project for my girlfriends son, I'll be working on this Ranger build.

I purchased some LED headlights, a tailgate dampener, and a brake controller that I will start installing tomorrow. Hopefully in the next week or two I'll be installing the Skyjacker lift. Just trying to come up with tires first.

I really hate having to reach out to companies to see if they'll help with this build and then spend so much time waiting to see if I'll even get a response. It can take anywhere from days to months to hear back from people. It would be great to have enough money to just fund it all myself. I'm thankful for the support I've received from these companies because I wouldn't be able to do it without them.

After having an F-150 with an automatic tailgate I didn't like how the Ranger tailgate drops so abruply. Especially when I know you can get a strut to prevent that from happening.

I decided to install a DeeZee Tailgate Assist P/N DZ43206.

First you remove the rear most bolt at the hinge.

20230303_120820.jpg

Then install the strut on to the supplied lower mount with the new bolt.

Then replace the upper bolt on the hinge bracket with the new supplied bolt.

20230303_121507.jpg

Remove the cable for the tailgate and then the latch bolt.

20230303_121534.jpg

Install the new upper strut mount behind the factory latch bolt.

20230303_121740.jpg

Reinstall the cable and snap the upper strut mount

It's a quick and easy modification.

I wanted to upgrade my halogen lights with briter whiter light so I bought some Nilight LED bulbs.

The new H11 low beams and driving lights are 50 watt 10,000 lumen bulbs.

The new 9005 high beams are 100 watt 20,000 l7men bulbs.

20230303_122440.jpg

20230303_123107.jpg

20230303_122942.jpg

The bulbs sit behind these white twist off caps.

20230303_122945.jpg

20230303_123932.jpg

The driving lights can be reached by reaching up between the bumper and crash bar.

20230303_145542.jpg

You can reach the light to unplug it but it's hard to get two hands in there to plug the new bulbs in. It helps if you turn the wheel all the way to the outside.

20230303_141507.jpg

20230303_130242.jpg

You can see the color difference between the LED (white) and halogen (yellow) bulbs.

20230303_140659.jpg

I really like having brighter whiter lights. Especially living out in the dark country. I haven't had anyone flash their high beams at me indicating that they're to bright.
