Don't forget to check the carrier bearing for the driveshaft while you are looking around for the potential cause of the vibration.
It all feels tight and good. I know that Ranger owners on other continents use a spacer(s) to lower their center bearing.

"Offset lowered centre bearing bracket to reduce driveline vibration. Lowers centre driveshaft bearing to reduce the severity of vibration often associated with suspension lift or unbalanced driveshaft. "

I've been thinking about doing that.

My credo
Buy it, build it, and drive it like you stole it
I got the LT295/70R/17 Maxxis RAZR AT's mounted today.

The guy mounting them said they only took 3/4 of an ounce to balance (so much better than the 28 ounces). I can't believe how much quieter these tires are. Way smoother too. When I left the tire shop, I pulled into a gas station to get gas, and I had become so use to the rumbling of the old tires that I felt like the truck had stalled, and I was floating in because it was to quiet and smooth. I couldn't resist hitting some gravel roads and a forest area to get them dirty and take a couple of pics.

I'm anxious to take them off-road.

I still get a little vibration up around 75 MPH, but it seems like it might be in the rear somewhere.

The difference between ATs and MTs on road characteristics is night and day. They look good on there. Look quite aggressive for a AT too. Looks almost like hybrid tire. I know you will shoot honest feed back on them and I look forward to seeing reports on wear and offroad capabilities. Congrats I know when I first put the ATs on it was like driving a new truck on the highway again. The Geolanders are still pretty quiet on the highway right now. We will see how they do as they wear down.

In my case the vibration in the rear turned out to be blown shocks.

I thought it was due to excess gas. Oh, wrong rear end. Sorry.

But.....

I have those super special FX4 shocks.

Surely they're not worn out already.

LOL

I should of had you jump up and down on my bumper at Primanti Bros and tested them.

What I noticed, after balancing the wheels multiple times, was the vibration was worse on some roads than others.

Good video. You should have shown how hard a new shock it to compress.

Yeah, I didn't think to do it until after the new shocks were on.

Take them off and redo the video. We can't have shoddy video work.

What shocks did you replace them with?
Plain ol' Monroe Gas. I wasn't going to spend big money for Bilsteins because I wasn't totally sure that was the problem. About $40 each on Rock Auto.

I don't know what he's running but this is what I'm wanting haha.

I suppose the price is worth it with the lift, new springs, and the reservoirs but woof! at the price at the same time.

I was thinking of going the 5110s but then I considered how much time I spend driving gravel roads. The rear shocks tend to get quite warm on those long gravel trips. So I was thinking the upgrade with the remote reservoir would run cooler which would cause them to last longer. With only 500 dollars difference and the struts come assembled already

Don’t Rangers come with reservoir rear shocks from the factory… I’ll have to check mine.
