Kinda nice to have all that in one package. I'm sure the price will be impressive too. All that in one big buy? Woof!

Is the chair included ?
It’s probably an option and it’s uncomfortable as hell like the NBX Explorer chairs I have.

Why not buy a camper? Or just make a tent on the ground? Or just sleep in the back like I did in the Eddie Bauer 96 Explorer or like I did in my Ramchargers?

Im mean the bed of my Ram was sufficient for making the kid so whats the big deal with a roof tent.🤷‍♂️

So...
Buying a camper is an acceptable option, as is a ground tent, or just sleeping in the vehicle....
But a RTT isn’t?
Why? It’s just another option of what to sleep in.

Takes up less space in the truck I guess. Plus you don’t have to worry about rocks.

It depends on what you are doing. Overlanding is often a lot of undeveloped road driving where a trailer generally isn't the best option. A RTT offers more convenience and room in the vehicle for gear for trips where one is only staying for one night and then moving on. Overlanders do use quick pitch tent options as well but then, you need to store it somewhere when on the move. Space is usually at a premium in SUVs as it is. So things like a RTT are a very attractive option.

And you don't have to totally unload your SUV/truck to have somewhere to sleep. They have their place.

I don't care to pack my 100# lab up the ladder into one though.

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
The RTT's seem to be pretty quick and easy to set up, too. Last week, I watched a guy in the campsite next to me set one up. He had usable shelter faster than I did. He didn't have to fiddle with getting collapsible fiberglass poles hooked to the tent and through sleeves and then attaching the rain fly. It was quick, which could be a big advantage on a rainy day. His German shepherds slept in the attached room at ground level. Poor guy had his on top of a Toyota, though.
