Hit a weird snag when looking for a rear sway bar for the 2011.

Depending on who's catalog/site you look at, there's two different hellwig bars listed for the 2011 model, Hellwig 7511 and 7720.

Anyone know the difference? Concerned that one of them is designed for a lower riding truck vs. the other. Planning on replacing shorty factory lift blocks with pre-2008 ones and lifting with a shackle, so want to pick whichever of the two allows for more lift.

I think they are just different thickness bars. I spent some time tracking down the parts to put one on mine and only ever found one style, all mount the same with the same parts. But the bar for say a regular cab 2wd short bed would most likely be thinner than the bar for a super cab 4x4.

After much debate the general consensus I got though was they don't do much. If I had a 4x4 I wouldn't have even considered it...

This thing is way too soft in the rear, but I think it's because I'm used to much stiffer suspension. Either way, track bars are absolutely getting added, along with a rear bar and limited slip or torsen. Just want to go with whichever of the two bars is a better option

Cant tell you. You think they would list the thickness of the bar on the website?

Both are listed as 7/8, but I can't tell which one has longer links ?

What's weird to me is the 7720 bar is listed as "2011 Ranger V8" ?

The difference *might* be solely based off what axles in the truck and how it mounts... The small tube (3in dia) 7.5/8.8 with 28 spline axle shafts vs the large tube (3.25in dia) 8.8 with 31 spline shafts. Personally would just get the 1"rear sway bar from a late 2wd BII. I pulled mine from an '88 thats going to find its way onto my GT.

Just do a rear leaf spring delete and set the frame right on the axle. No more sway. ;)

Wasn't sure of compatibility, and need to actually get a measurement/look at the rear axle on this thing to see what spline it is and tube size. I think the axle code is 96. I know it's an open diff, and it's going in the garbage as soon as I can pick up a torsen.

Just remember the cheap FX4 Torsen is made for 31 spline axles so you would need an a big tube axle (FX4 Level II or my recommendation Explorer 8.8 which replacement axle shafts are much easier to find) unless you want to spend money on custom 31 spline shafts for the small tube/bearing standard ranger 8.8.

Have an exploder 8.8 that's sitting under the 88 right now ready to go. May go pick up another. They're cheap enough to just hang one

Always good to have one lying around. Reminds me I gotta make a junkyard run soon and pick up another one to regear with 5.13s lol.
