Been all over a couple Ranger forums but can't find a tire fitment guide for 2011, so here goes...

Keeping the stock rims, what's the biggest tire size I can go w/o making modifications? Any advice is appreciated.

those are 15 x 7, and are special because they will fit over 12" front brakes.
pick out a few tire choices, then look up the specs for rim width required.
I use tirerack.com

since you have torsion bar front suspension, if you don't already have 12" front rotors you can install steering knuckles from a Sport track to get 12"
front brakes. that makes a big difference with larger tires.

30X9.5R15 if you do no modifications and don’t want any rubbing.

Thanks SGT. One of my best assignments in Pittsburg (Coraopolis). Initial assignment as a SGM.

One last question. What mods what I need to get to 31s?

I can’t see if you have a 4X4 since I’m on my phone. If it is, you need torsion bar keys and axle blocks from or for a 1998-2007 Ranger. In 2008, they changed the cut of the keys and installed shorter blocks to bump up the mpg numbers. So the trucks sit about 1.5” shorter than Rangers built before 2008.

I just purchased this for my son yesterday. I used to have a 2006 Ranger and this 2011 does seem to sit lower. It's a 4x2 Ranger Sport.

Does it have the torsion bar or coil spring front suspension? The keys will still apply if it’s torsion bar. You’ll need longer springs or spring spacers to make it happen if it is a coil spring front end.

Being a RWD, it will sit lower than a 4X4. So it might take a little more work and figuring out.

You could switch over to the earlier torsion keys for the front and the rear lift blocks in the rear from a pre 08 truck.

You also need to consider your gear ratio. A 4.10 gear and 31's works pretty good. A 3.73 will work too but suffers a bit more.

No coils in the front.
I've watched videos on replacing the torsion key. I'd struggle to get the tools and space to do this myself. Any other alternatives to lifting? Would upgrading shocks on front and rear provide enough lift to get 31s on?

Body lift. The kit replaces all the body mount pucks with thicker ones to raise the body up from the frame.

Some people like the look and others don’t. It’s pretty much not a gray area thing.

Shocks are there to provide shock absorption. They do nothing to provide lift.

Thank you all for the advice so far. The undercarriage is super clean. Amazingly clean and no rust. I do plan to crawl underneath tomorrow to see what I got to work with. Will post pictures and will probably have more questions.
