Well, I rebuilt the whole thing as I didn't know what caused the person who owned the engine before me to remove it from their vehicle. That and I never did it before, I had plenty of help whilst doing so and both a Haynes and Chiltons manual.
With the ones I can find on FB they all just need new timing sets, which is easy when it's already removed from the vehicle

Factory what ever that is.
1. If it's already removed from a vehicle how do YOU KNOW that it even runs BEFORE YOU buy it
2. If it needs a timing set then most likely it will not run right, so that YOU KNOW it's a GOOD motor.

3. It's a free country. Do what YOU WANT. Just always remember, Buyer beware.

Not trying to boss you around or yell at you just trying to help to get the point across. That your taking chances.

XD Nah, I'm aware, one I found has a video of it running, the person just decided to cut the harness as they were removing it rather then unplugging things. Annoying but hey, I just so happen to have a harness lying around, and a few others with that
The timing system on the 4.0 SOHC are notorious for failing as they have 3 chains and the factory guides give out after a while. No one replaces them because you have to pull the engine to reach the passenger side.
Tomorrow I'll see if I pull the pan on mine and do a damage assessment and try to figure out what went wrong. Post the pics here
Then start the thread on what one needs to swap in a 4.0 into a 2.3 chassis

Well as I said before I really don't know much about the stuff that's new to and most likely old to you.
And after doing 20 years in prison and only being out since June, I'm sure you know more about what you're talking about then I do.

Luck to you.

Well, I joked about how it was either going to be something really dumb that caused it, or something extremely insane
It was the latter
Basically, cyl 3 exploded, I'm not sure why yet. Thinking a valve wanted a career change. The chunks knocked the oil pump loose, jammed the crank and broke the bolts holding the end cap for cyl 6 off letting it do whatever it wants. Which was to try and go out the oil pan

Pictures of the con rod and chamber of cyl 3, darn phone wouldn't focus enough to see the head. Which is done

Sorry I didn't reply to your last post sooner.
However that made me so sad I almost went out looking for a hooker just to make myself feel a little better.

Man that really is bad.

I guess you just chalk it up as 1 more experience in life.

Once again I hope your next experience works out better.

It's all good man
XD Damn bro

Yeah, she's FUCKED. I'm still annoyed about it, but man this is, just insane I can't help but laugh. I'm thinking of turning the block, with the rods and crank as is into an end table because. This is impressive

That sure would be a heavy table. But I get it and truly like the idea.
Clean it really good spray it with some clear and you have a very solid base for a table.
Yeah I like it.
