Hello!
Have not been here in a while.
I want to replace my pcv valve for age if nothing else.
I have p0507 code blocking my inspection.
Is it related?
I have reviewed this for my 2004 3L but it's for the Mazda and I should see the oil dipstick and yet I don't see that on my 3L.

Sincerely,
JC Magras

Whoops. But from what I see in chilton., I have to take off the wheel AND the wheel well. I'm not doing that without a clearer plan of action. I have the part.

try looking at the valve cover for your PCV valve. I have a 2000 3.0, haven't really paid any attention to where the PCV is. that means it's still the factory unit in there and it's still working. always used synthetic oil, that keeps the insides cleaner.

go to an online parts site, look up your PVC for a picture.

I have the chilton book also. The chilton says, p 1-27, that the pcv valve for my 2004 3L v6 is on the back of the camshaft cover. But where is the camshaft cover? YouTube mentions only a camshaft position sensor.

Sincerely,
JC Magras

The PCV valve is located on top of the driver's side valve cover at the firewall. Look for large vacuum tubing coming off the back of the upper intake plenum and follow it down. The PCV is the gray piece going into the valve cover. There are 2 styles on this year, heated (2-wire connector) and non-heated. My Kaliforia-spec 3.0 has the heated one. Buy only Motorcraft for this PCV valve, too many issues with aftermarket ones.
