I recently bought a 2004 ranger FX4. It has a slight lift, and rancho suspension. I ordered a set of N-fab steps and they didn’t work out. Seems my ranger may be built on the edge platform. The pinch weld is 5/6 inches in from where a plain ranger would be. I bought this to tow behind our motor home, its fine for me, I’m 6’1, but my wife is much shorter. So, the steps are needed. Does anyone have any ideas? Or recommendations?

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
There’s nothing really special about an Edge model. (Unless it’s a 2wd, but yours is an Fx4. That would be a standard 4x4 frame.) It’s just different options.

Th

anks for that observation. Really on top of the convers.
You posted this thread in the wrong section and then you posted a pic that doesn't really show anything but a wore out tire. What kind of help do you want? And try proofreading your posts.

Thanks for your help. I am so sorry its in the wrong section, please, forgive me. As for the picture, if Everyone can please look past the wore out tire you would see, the pinch weld and how far back it sits the steps, i was hoping some of the people here had added a step of some kind and might be able to recommend something that fits. Thanks. Oh, and i went back and fixed that one post. I appreciate you pointing it out.

See... when you post a smart alec comment... it starts to fester just a bit.... then we end up here. @sheep herder … relax man. Mr. Bryan is just looking for a bit of help and last I checked... it's what we do and do well.

@Rowdiebryan I'm going to move this over to the General Discussions. Let's let the question soak for a minute.

As far as I know... edge or FX4 those tube steps should have bolted up. Did you buy them new? you sure you got the right stuff?

In my experience... I feel that the tube steps are about useless as a step. They sit a bit to close to the body to give you a good spot to step.

I would try looking at like an Bully step. I can't say I've found one that they say fits a ranger but I see one running around here that has them on it... so I'm certain there is a way.

Yes sir i agree. I bought some from Nfab that have a step on the bottom, but there’s didn’t fit, not really looking for the nerf bar type.

thanks for moving it to the correct area. I’ll search better next time.
I did buy them new. It was n-fab who said they didn’t make them for the model I have.

If you like the n-fab ones... you could always make them fit. But your truck looks like any other Ranger... FX4 or EDGE... it's just a Ranger at the end of the day.

Post a link for these steps... I'd like to see them.
