Greetings, 2004 Ranger XL 4x4 has oil leak, that is getting onto the exhaust. Would a leaking rear seal be a possibility? or if it is on the exhaust, would it be more likely a valve cover gasket? Thanks Unclewalther

Sorry for the late reply, with my 2007 4.0L, it has had 2 oil leaks, one at the oil sender (switch) at the front left below the water pump drivers side, get to it from below, and the well known rear oil pan gasket. Don't over torque the 10mm oil pan bolts. Don't think there is a rear main seal leak, but it looks like it might, still wiping and tightening pan fasteners, may need to replace the pan gasket someday if possible w/o lifting the engine up.
