Hello all. When I purchased my Ranger it had an aftermarket cruise control setup installed. A couple of days ago it tried to kill me so its got to go. I looked over the guide to install OE cruise control on the forums ( https://www.therangerstation.com/forums/index.php?threads/complete-oem-cruise-control-installation.160781/ ). My truck has the plug on the right apron beneath just below the fender and the plugs under the panel so jackpot there. But the question comes about the interchangeability of cruise control servos. Since my truck doesn't have it from the factory my local dealership won't look up parts they can't get from the VIN. My local salvage yard has one part# XL2F-9C734-AA and he said it's a 2000 model year. The a different servo I found has a base part number of 9c735 when I look it up on this website: https://www.fordpartsgiant.com/oem-ford-cruise_control_servo.html?vin=&make=Ford&model=Ranger&year=2002&submodel=&extra1=6 Cyl 3.0L&extra2=5-Speed Automatic Transmission 5R44E&filter=() . I know manufacturers change part numbers sometimes and say things like 'supersedes' older part number. Is there a good way to find out what part numbers are compatible with my truck? Thanks for reading!
