Hi everyone. Issue is the boot on the wire connected to cylinder 4 burns through because of a high electric current.
History- replaced almost everything for tune up. List includes wires, plugs, coil pack (several time because thought to have recieved bad replacements), fuel injectors, sensors when codes indicate they've gone bad.
This is obviously electrical because, when I thought it was merely heat related, I purchased boot covers and the wire was destroyed from underneath the cover. This issue has even destroyed a plug's terminal nut. This problem has been progressive meaning it showed no signs of trouble for months before the wire was burnt through, then days before destroying the wire, and now it will burn through while driving in just minutes. All of the parts are quality reputable brands or factory parts.

I had a similar issue on my truck, the only wires I have found to hold up are Napa Belden lifetime warranty, first sign of the slitest miss I start checking the boots, wires etc. I too run boot covers hoping to help (its worse with headers over the stock manifolds). I once read an article regarding how the waste spark fires and platinum plugs, choosing the wrong plug for the passenger side lead to ignition, plug, wire issues.

With the supercharger, I run plain jane copper core plugs so nothing has helped me out other than keeping a close eye on them, and I run wire seperators to keep them as far apart from each other and the headers & block.

Good luck, if you find anything please post it
